After two successful runners retreat in 2022, Forget the Gym is excited to be back on beautiful Bere Island for another invigorating session of mindful running.
The runner’s retreat is 4 days (3 nights) and will be based in the unique Wild Atlantic Glamping, this runner’s retreat is a true getaway – the views don’t get any more spectacular than this.
There are two retreats on Bere Island.
- July: Monday 17th – Thursday 20th
- Aug: Monday 14th – Thursday 17th
The summer escapes are suitable for anyone who can run 5k between 25 and 35 minutes, more lengthy runs will be broken up. Focus is on enjoying mindful running, technique, mobility, injury prevention and planning for your running future. There is no pressure to run fast or run far, the experience will leave you feeling refreshed rather than tired.
Wild Atlantic Glamping has ten luxury bell tents with private terraces. There is an architecturally designed common area for meals and some coaching sessions. You can book a bell tent for yourself (limited availability) or team up with a running buddy to share a tent.
The meals will include locally sourced produce, giving you the opportunity to savour the finest flavours that the island has to offer.

About Mary Jennings
Mary founded Forget The Gym 15 years ago when she left her ‘proper job’ to follow her passion for moving outdoors. A relative latecomer to fitness, Mary understands what it’s like not to feel ‘sporty’ and loves building confidence in new runners and helping people reach their running goals.
