Shore to Sky | Robbie Murphy | Photographic Exhibition
Robbie Murphy’s knowledge and understanding of Sherkin Island’s changing light shapes his solo exhibition ‘From Shore to Sky’.
Robbie’s family moved to Sherkin shortly after he was born, and he works on the island, farming oysters, but he is also an enthusiastic photographer of Sherkin – its landscapes, the changing weather, and its flora and fauna.
The quality of West Cork’s light, as well as the drama of this wild Atlantic location are captured in Robbie’s work.
Sherkin has a reputation as the ‘Island of the Arts’, and it is wonderful to see photography being celebrated as part of a summer series of exhibitions on the island.
