Do the Do Run Run on Sherkin Island on August 12th!
The entry fee is €10 per adult and €3 per child (under 16), and €20 per family. Ferries will be offered at a reduced price from Baltimore if you have a race number. All proceeds will be donated to three local charities:
-Cancer Connect
-Baltimore Community Swimming Pool
-Sherkin Island Community First Responder Group.
The Do Run Run route will be a combination of roads, off-road terrain, and beaches which people can run, jog or walk. This is a non-competitive event with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
The event will start and finish at the Islanders Rest Hotel which is only a short walk from the pier. There will be a bag drop facility at the hotel and changing facilities if required. There will be a party on the lawn in the Islanders Rest directly after the event including live music.
We will have a common start at 14:45 with two courses to choose from, an 8km coastal scenic route or a 4Km road route out to Silver Strand and back (buggy friendly). The two routes meet up for the last 2kms if you want to rejoin other family members.
The event is part of the West Cork Island Run Series, run in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership.
