Join us for a talk on the Napoleonic Era Defences of Bere Island which will be given by Damien Shiels, a conflict archaeologist with Rubicon Heritage.
This event is part of the Heritage Week 2015 on Bere Island.
During your visit to the island, why not visit the Bere Island Heritage Centre which hosts a permanent exhibition detailing the unique history and lifestyle of Bere Island, as well as a database of the local graveyard. Staff are also on hand to provide assistance with genealogy research. The Heritage Centre also houses a cafe and craft shop featuring items handmade on the island.
