Cape Clear is home to one of Ireland’s most distinctive and best-loved festivals: the Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival (5th-7th September 2014).
The festival celebrates one of the world’s oldest art forms, and brings story-tellers and listeners together for amazing experiences in the unique setting of Ireland’s most southernmost inhabited island.
Cape Clear is situated 8 miles off the coast of Baltimore in West Cork. The stunning scenery and local folklore make this the perfect setting for the storytelling festival which is now in its 20th year.
The event has become one of the most renowned festivals in the world storytelling calendar. Each year it brings together some of the most accomplished tellers from around the world. It also gives visitors to Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way the opportunity to meet the best Irish exponents of the storytelling art in an intimate and dramatic island environment.
The storytellers at Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival 2014 include participants from Ireland, the UK, America and Germany.
