Do the Do Run Run on Sherkin Island on August 12th!
The entry fee last year was €10 per adult and €3 per child (under 16), and €20 per family. This year’s fee will be fixed shortly. Ferries will be offered at a reduced price from Baltimore if you have a race number. All proceeds will be donated to three local charities (to be confirmed nearer the date).
The Do Run Run route will cover a combination of roads, off-road terrain, and beaches. People can run, jog or walk, taking in some spectacular island views along the way! This is a non-competitive event with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
The event will start and finish at the Islanders Rest Hotel which is only a short walk from the pier. There will be a bag drop facility at the hotel and changing facilities if required. There will be a party on the lawn in the Islanders Rest directly after the event including live music.
We will have a common start at 14:45 with two courses to choose from, an 8km coastal scenic route or a 4Km road route out to Silver Strand and back (buggy friendly). The two routes meet up for the last 2kms if you want to rejoin other family members.
The event is part of the West Cork Island Run Series, run in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership.
Pre-register at Skibbereen Tourist Office, or register on the day.
