Take a taste tour of Bere Island as part of the Taste of West Cork Festival 2016
This tour combines the cultural heritage of Bere Island with a chance to enjoy the spectacular seafood served in the island restaurants.
On arrival at Bere Island, experience a taste of Bere Island scallops at the Lookout Bistro, after which the tour calls to the Heritage Centre. The tour then heads to the Bere Island Hotel for a taste of local mussels, before visiting the standing stone and the town land of Grenane.
Onwards to the Bakehouse Cafe for a taste of Bere Island seafood chowder, and on to the military fortifications at the east end of the island.
Head back to the ferry at 4.30 – replete and refreshed by island food and island air.
Take the 1.00pm ferry to Bere Island from the pontoon (3 miles from Castletownbere on the Glengarriff road) or the 1.30 ferry from Castletownbere (opposite SuperValu). The tour bus will collect from both ferries.
€8 RETURN FOR THE FERRY | €25 FOR BUS TOUR AND TASTINGS
