Join us on Sherkin Island for the eclectic, second annual Open Ear Musical Festival…
Open Ear is a music festival which debuted in June 2016 as a sold out event, which brought over 300 music fanatics to the alluring environs of Sherkin Island, a beautiful sanctuary off the South coast of Ireland. It was inspired by alternative festivals like Unsound in Krakow and Rathlin Island off the coast of Antrim.
Bringing together a collage of cutting edge artists from around the country showcasing experimental, ambient, electronica, neo-classical, hip hop / beats, techno, noise and more; Open Ear is a singular celebration of Irish music often over-looked by the mainstream.
This year some of the acts include: Mike Slott, Naive Ted, Dreamcycles, Frances Heery, Gadget and the Cloud, and so much more.
Organiser Chris Chapman says, “I want the festival to be focused wholly on music. A lot of festivals are multi-disciplinary or brand themselves as ‘Music & Arts’ festivals, but OE is 100 per cent about discovering new, exciting music. Finally, and most importantly, the key aspect of the festival for me is that it shines a spotlight on Irish talent. There is a huge talent pool in this country (we could have filled the bill twice over), and giving them a platform to play at a well-programmed festival with a high level of production is the driving force behind OE.”
Early bird prices are sold out, but there are 2 tiers left. Standard Weekend costs €110 and Last Minute Weekend costs €130. Click HERE to book.
