Reflect and renew your senses at the Bere Island Meditation & Healing Retreat this September
The event will be led by Laurence Freeman OSB – a leading thinker on mindfulness and meditation. A Benedictine monk, Laurence Freeman says, “There is an urgent need today to recover the experience of the spiritual.” Fr. Laurence has worked with Google and medical associations to foster mindful thinking and leads retreats all over the world.
Fr. Laurence will lead the retreat each morning with a session on the relationship between healing and meditation. He will place particular emphasis on the needs and vocation of the healer, making this event especially helpful to anyone whose life involves them in a caring role.
Each afternoon throughout this meditation retreat, the sessions will be led by Barry White who will lead the shared exploration of some wisdom texts
and provide time for discussion.
Meditation will form part of each session and an introduction to meditation will be given for those who are new to the practice. The retreat is designed for people new to meditation as well as those who have begun to meditate and who wish to strengthen it as part of their daily lives.
This schedule will allow participants to take time for personal reflection and silence in an island setting renowned for its peace and beauty as well as the friendliness of the small community living there. Some opportunities for personal consultation will also be available.
The retreat starts on Sunday 17th September at 17.00 and will finish on Saturday 23rd at noon.
The cost of the retreat (not inc. food & accommodation) is €220 for the week or €35 per day for a nonresidential retreat.
