Whether you are a beginner, experienced home baker or simply a food lover our one day courses aim to take the fear out of bread making and return bread to its rightful place as ‘King of the Table’.
The Firehouse Bakery is run by chef and baker Patrick Ryan. The co-author of ‘Bread Revolution, Patrick opened the Heir Island Bread School in June 2012. Since then, he’s been making regular trips to the island to take visitors beyond the limits of bread books, for a hands-on journey through the world of real bread.
Timings: Class is from 10:30 am – 5:30pm
Ferry departs Cunnamore Pier at 10am on weekdays and 9.30am on Saturdays and Sundays Return to the mainland is at 6pm Monday – Sunday

It’s easy to turn your visit into an adventure weekend when you try some sailing with Heir Island Sailing School which offers residential and day sailing courses on the crystal clear waters of Roaringwater Bay.
