Colour Theory isn’t just about red, yellow, and blue!
This long weekend residential course will offer an introduction to colour theory in painting, giving participants a greater understanding of how they use colour in their work. This will involve some fun practical activities to illustrate the theory and then this new knowledge will be taken out into the glorious landscape of Sherkin Island, West Cork to put it all into practice.
There will be opportunities to share and reflect, or space to make personal investigations into the fascinating arena of Colour Theory; it is so much more than red, blue and yellow.
The groups are deliberately kept very small, with a maximum of 8 people, to promote a more intimate group dynamic and allow for more extensive individual tuition as appropriate.
Schedule
The weekend begins on Friday evening, when participants come together for supper and get to know each other over the delicious food prepared by Kathy & Mike at North Shore. The work then begins on Saturday morning , after a fabulous breakfast, meeting in the workroom at about 9.45am. The exact structure of each day will be in influenced by the weather, to ensure that participants can take best advantage of staying in this amazing setting. The day will be punctuated by lunch and tea/coffee breaks, so there is no fear of anyone going hungry or thirsty. The ‘official’ working day usually ends at about 4pm, but everyone gathers later for pre- supper drinks, to reflect on the day, chat, look at art books and marvel at the stunning sunsets for which North Shore is so well-known. The weekend draws to a close on Monday afternoon.
